Robert Seale Lighting It Up in Austin
Houston photographer Robert Seale shares virtually countless tricks of the trade in this one-hour slideshow/Webinar of a photoshoot with Michael Scott Parker.
Shot as an educational event for PhotoShelter, the resulting Webinar details the set-up and use of gear, including the Profoto Pro-7b, Profoto Honeycomb Grid, Honeycomb Grid Reflector, Profoto Softlight Reflector, Profoto 7′ Reflector with Diffuser, and PocketWizard MultiMAX units.

“With an outdoor location, and 120 students looking on and milling about, the Pro-7b packs were the natural choice for the demo,” says Robert. “We avoided having any safety or trip hazard issues with cords. Power access was never an issue, and we were able to move the 7b-equipped roller stands from shot to shot seamlessly.”
Austin digital tech Taylor Jones of Texas Grip provided his fully-outfitted grip truck, not only equipping the crew with wireless digital capture, but he also had eight to ten 7b packs on hand, and every imaginable Profoto modifier available to help complete the shoot.
“The 7b has become my go-to light source for virtually all my outdoor portraiture,” concludes Robert.
Robert also has an excellent blog worth checking out for more on this particular shoot and many others. Lots of lighting details and pro tips on shooting a wide range of portrait subjects and styles. Nice work, Robert.
